Tesla sales fall sharply in Europe in January

The European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) has announced new car registration data for January in European countries.

According to data, car sales of Tesla, owned by American billionaire Elon Musk, have declined significantly in European countries.

Tesla sales, which totaled 18,161 units in January last year, decreased by 45.2 percent to 9,945 in the same period this year.

Tesla, whose market value exceeds $1 trillion and has caught up with the combined value of other major companies in the global automobile industry, has been declining in sales in European countries recently.

Elon Musk's controversial behavior, such as the hand gesture he made at US President Donald Trump's inauguration that was likened to a Nazi salute on the internet, his open support for far-right politicians in Germany and his meddling in UK politics are causing Europeans to distance themselves from the company.

Tesla sales are declining in almost all European countries, especially Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the UK.
