Demet Akalın's call for Eurovision: 'We can participate by standing still'

Popular pop star Demet Akalın suggested they could participate in Eurovision with her chart-topping song "Yerinde Dur," a duet with rapper Sefo. Tagging TRT on social media, Akalın wrote, "I say we should enter Eurovision with "Yerinde Dur." Just think about it."
Türkiye last participated in Eurovision in 2012 with Can Bonomo, finishing 7th.
In a recent interview, the successful singer expressed her pride in Yerinde Dur's success, saying, "I'm so happy and proud. Our song, a wonderful collaboration, left its mark on the summer. It topped the charts both domestically and internationally. This is a huge achievement. And it's still breaking records. So, I can say we're overjoyed."
Akalın also responded to the question, "If Türkiye were to participate in Eurovision again, would you like to take part in such a platform?" by saying, "I'm not saying I wouldn't consider it or participate. If the song we choose is in Turkish, I'd say why not."
