30 August Victory Day message from the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Kurtulmuş

Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Numan Kurtulmuş published a congratulatory message on social media on the occasion of August 30 Victory Day.

Kurtulmuş included the following statements in his message:

Happy August 30 Victory Day to our beloved nation.

While every corner of our homeland was under occupation, the will rising from every corner of Anatolia turned into an all-out struggle for existence in the Great Offensive.

Our country, surrounded by occupation and disintegration plans, rose to its feet again thanks to the will of our ancestors to resist; liberation became possible thanks to the perseverance shown in the face of impossible circumstances.

What makes our War of Independence Victory valuable is the combination of belief in independence with military genius, and the unification of Anatolia around this belief and the freedom it deserved.

August 30th demonstrated that there are no obstacles a nation facing all sorts of hardships cannot overcome when its parliament and army, its minds and hearts, its men and women, and all its children unite. This path continues to guide us today.

Our duty is to strengthen our democracy and fraternity, and to leave a stronger, more effective, and more prosperous Türkiye to future generations. As long as we maintain our unity and solidarity, our future will remain bright.

On the occasion of this blessed day, I respectfully commemorate Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Commander-in-Chief of the Great Offensive, and all our martyrs and veterans.
