Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 346 suspects were apprehended in operations conducted in the last week as part of the fight against cybercrime, and 99 of these individuals were arrested . Simultaneous raids were conducted in 21 provinces under the coordination of chief public prosecutors' offices and the Cybercrime Department of the General Directorate of Security for online child obscenity, aggravated fraud, illegal betting, and theft. During the operations, seven vehicles and one workplace, valued at 22.8 million lira and believed to be proceeds from crime, were seized. Additionally, six unlicensed pistols, seven blank-firing pistols, narcotics, and numerous digital materials were seized.

Yerlikaya: “The strongest shield against cybercrime is awareness” Minister Yerlikaya stated in a statement on his social media account that the suspects apprehended in the operations had defrauded citizens with methods such as “car rental, deposit, high earnings, bungalow rental” through social media and phishing sites , had established and operated panels on illegal betting and virtual gambling sites, and had accessed mobile banking accounts, seized personal data and gained unjust profits .

Yerlikaya announced that 99 people have been arrested, judicial control orders issued for 60 suspects , and that proceedings are ongoing for the remaining suspects. He explained that an investigation has been launched into the suspects for crimes such as aggravated fraud using information systems, illegal betting, online obscenity, theft, establishing a terrorist organization, and laundering assets obtained through criminal activity .

Yerlikaya congratulated all security forces. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya congratulated the governors, chief prosecutors, provincial police chiefs, police officers, and Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) employees who contributed to the operations. Yerlikaya said, “Let's not forget that the strongest shield against cybercrime is awareness. Please report any suspicious situations to the 112 Emergency Call Center, and we will take necessary action.”
