Important decision in the CHP congress case

An investigation launched by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into allegations of vote rigging at the congress was concluded on June 3. The indictment sought sentences of up to three years in prison and a political ban for 12 people, including Ekrem İmamoğlu, under Article 112 of the Political Parties Law.
The Ankara 26th Criminal Court of First Instance, which initially reviewed the case, ruled that the case be referred to the high criminal court due to the scope of the crime. However, the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office objected to this decision. At the end of the process, the Ankara Regional Court of Justice intervened and unanimously ruled that the Ankara 26th Criminal Court of First Instance was responsible for hearing the case.
The decision stated that the previous decision of lack of jurisdiction lacked legal basis and emphasized that it was necessary to overturn this decision.
