Minister Şimşek evaluated his visit to the US: The trust and interest in Türkiye pleased us!

Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek evaluated the G20, IMF and World Bank meetings he attended in Washington.
In a statement on his social media account, X, Şimşek stated that the meetings were extremely productive. He noted that they met with investors in the US and expressed satisfaction with the growing confidence and interest in the Turkish economy.

Şimşek continued: “We met with investors at well-attended meetings organized by investment banks. We shared the resilience of the Turkish economy, the concrete progress in our program, and our strong investment potential. We also held bilateral discussions with many of my counterparts on deepening economic cooperation and increasing trade and investment.”
Views were exchanged with NGOs and think tanksRecalling that they also exchanged views with senior executives of multilateral development banks, non-governmental organizations, and think tanks, Minister Şimşek concluded his statement by saying, "We are pleased to observe the growing confidence and interest in the Turkish economy."
He set a date for single-digit inflation.Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek assessed the Turkish economy and outlined inflation expectations at the Institute of International Finance (IIF) Annual Members' Meeting, which he attended before the G20, IMF, and World Bank meetings. Şimşek stated that inflation has fallen, the budget deficit is at a reasonable level, and external imbalances have largely been addressed. He noted that good progress has been made in inflation and that it will reach single digits in the coming years. He continued: “We may face slightly higher inflation figures than expected this year compared to our program, but I think we can handle it. We will probably close this year at 30 percent; last year, this rate was 44 percent, and the year before that, it was 65 percent. We expect to finish next year around 10 percent and the year after in single digits.”
