Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık , who was arrested as part of an investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and admitted to intensive care the day before due to health problems, underwent an angiogram. Çalık, who was arrested on March 23 and transferred from Silivri to İzmir Buca Kırıklar Prison, had reportedly lost 18 kilograms (30 pounds) and was at risk of a recurrence of his leukemia.

Çalık, who had previously been treated twice for cancer and underwent surgery for suspected lymphoma, was transferred to prison the day after the operation. Çalık's lawyer, Melih Koçhan, stated that his client was taken to prison before his wound had healed. Çalık became ill in prison on July 9th. He was first transferred to Buca State Hospital and then to Katip Çelebi Hospital. Çalık was admitted to intensive care.

Murat Çalık's wife, Zehra Çalık, spoke to Halk TV to update him on the latest developments. "They brought him to Buca State Hospital immediately," Çalık said. "His chest was tight and he was feeling unwell."

“IN INTENSIVE CARE AS A PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE”

Zehra Çalık stated that Murat Çalık's heart tests were initially performed, but he was transferred to Katip Çelebi Hospital because the hospital was not suitable for detainees. "We are there now," she said. "He was taken to intensive care as a precaution. He also underwent an angiogram just now. We are waiting for the results."

“LEUKEMIA IS ON THE BORDERLINE”

Zehra Çalık, reminding that Çalık had previously had a mass removed from her neck, said, "The risk of leukemia is already at the borderline, on the verge of relapse." Çalık noted that the hospital report had been sent to the Forensic Medicine Department, adding, "Our committee report is also out. It's been sent to the prosecutor's office and the ministry. Now we're waiting for the Forensic Medicine Department to convene and approve."
