CHP mayors gathered in Ankara . Prior to the meeting, held at CHP headquarters with CHP leader Özgür Özel in attendance, images of the imprisoned mayors were hung on the party building. The meeting emphasized " fighting with determination, in unity and solidarity."

Attacks on the CHP dominated the agenda of the CHP mayors' meeting. In response to discussions about whether the CHP was uneasy about the operations spreading to other municipalities, the mayors closed the door by saying, "The concern isn't with us, it's with the government."

CONTINUE ACTIONS

According to information obtained from CHP sources, metropolitan mayors, as well as provincial and district mayors, spoke at the mayors' meeting held at CHP headquarters. Speeches by Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş, Mersin Metropolitan Mayor Vahap Seçer, and Afyonkarahisar Mayor Burcu Köksal were met with enthusiastic applause. The mayors stated, "We will continue our actions and maintain the same pace until election day."

At the meeting, it was also emphasized that the CHP would not withdraw from the streets. CHP members noted that every effort was made to push the CHP back and remove it from the streets during the process, saying, “We took a flag. The people told us, ‘You will govern the municipalities.’ We will continue to carry the flag.”

SOCIETY IS NOT CONVINCED

The meeting also discussed footage allegedly exposing bribery at the Manavgat Municipality. CHP members stated, "If anyone among us does anything wrong, we will fight them and throw away the dead branch." Many mayors at the meeting reportedly emphasized that the public has been unable to convince themselves of the accusations against CHP municipalities.

JOINT STATEMENT

Meanwhile, 134 CHP deputies issued a joint statement opposing judicial operations targeting municipalities. The statement read, "We stand tall against the unlawful attacks of the palace regime and will defend the will of the people to the very end. We stand with our Chairman Özgür Özel, our presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, and all elected mayors who have been unlawfully detained/arrested."

ŞİLE MAYOR IN CUSTODY

The government's judicial pressure on CHP-run municipalities continues. Teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Division launched an operation against the CHP-run Şile Municipality. Şile Mayor Özgür Kabadayı and five other people were detained. CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik announced that the detentions were carried out during a house raid at 1:30 a.m. Among those detained are former Private Secretary Oğuz Kaçmaz and Deputy Mayor Tuncay Tolga Özçakmak. CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik stated that the operation was carried out at 1:30 a.m. Çelik stated the following: "Those who have resorted to night raids because they failed to instill fear in the public by detaining certain individuals and mayors in dawn raids should know that our laws legally restrict nighttime operations and searches. This 'operational' mentality harms the peace, tranquility, and security of our country. Justice and human rights are being trampled for the sake of position, status, and power. Let everyone know that the will of the ballot box cannot be resisted, and that no one can intimidate or intimidate us!"
