Panic on Boeing 717 type passenger plane!

A Delta Air Lines flight diverted to Atlanta due to smoke on the plane, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. Flight 876 took off from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport at 8:30 a.m. Monday. The plane remained in the air for about 35 minutes before returning to Atlanta at 9:04 a.m.
Delta Air Lines said in a statement that the flight crew decided to follow procedures and return to Atlanta after haze was observed inside the aircraft after takeoff. The airline apologized for the incident, saying, "The safety of our customers and employees is paramount."
Video posted to social media by a passenger showed what appeared to be smoke in the cabin. Passengers were seen covering their mouths and noses to protect themselves from the fog. Delta said the flight had been declared an emergency by air traffic control to receive a "priority landing." The Boeing 717 plane was carrying 94 passengers, two pilots and three flight attendants.
After landing, Atlanta Emergency crews helped passengers safely evacuate the plane, a Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport spokesperson said.
The Federal Aviation Administration has opened an investigation into the incident.
