Why Kate Middleton and Prince William Won’t Be With the Royals at Easter Service

For the second year in a row, the Prince and Princess of Wales will miss the annual Easter Sunday service in Windsor. According to Hello!, the pair planned to stay home in Norfolk at Anmer Hall with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The family is spending the Lambrook school holiday together. King George and Queen Camilla will be having Easter service at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor per usual on Sunday.

In 2024, Easter Sunday came soon after Kate announced she was undergoing treatment for her cancer diagnosis, so the couple was very understandably absent. In September 2024, Kate announced she had completed chemotherapy. “Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus,” she said in a statement. “Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes.

She continued, “I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can. Despite all that has gone before I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life.”

In January of this year, the Princess shared that her cancer was in remission.

“As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal,” she shared. “I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support.”

Over the past few months since the end of her chemotherapy, Kate has been making more public appearances. But the Prince and Princess will be able to enjoy some peace and quiet at home and out of the spotlight this weekend.
