Dublin legend had some questionable choices in his all-time Sky Blues team

Dublin legend Barney Rock had a go at picking his all-time Sky Blues XV.

Rock played for his county from 1980-1981, and was part of the side that defeated Galway in the 1983 All-Ireland final.

He also won four Leinster SFC titles and three All-Stars.

He selected his team for O’Neill’s sportswears, but eyebrows were raised after some big omissions.

The most notable name not to make the team was the midfield engine of Dublin’s legendary side from the 2010s and early 2020s, James McCarthy.

Along with Michael Fitzsimmons and Stephen Cluxton, the Ballymun Kickhams man has won the most All-Ireland titles of any player, with nine, as well as five All-Star awards.

Other notable men to miss out were Bernard Brogan, Jimmy Keavney, and Ciarán Kilkenny.
