Meath Make Big Coaching Addition After Recruitment Of Armagh Legend

Having made a major breakthrough in 2025, Meath will be aiming to build on the momentum gained under Robbie Brennan as they prepare for another big campaign next year.
The Leinster county were arguably the story of the championship this summer, defeating the likes of Dublin, Kerry, and Galway en route to a shock semi-final appearance. While they would fall short in that game, as well as the Leinster final, hopes will be high that Meath can return to the top table of Gaelic football on a consistent basis moving forward.
Of course, adding to both their playing and coaching personnel would help in that regard. As a result, it is perhaps no surprise to see Meath make a big name addition to their coaching ticket for 2026.

Meath Make Big Coaching Addition With Recruitment Of Armagh LegendAs first reported by the Smaller Fish podcast, Armagh legend Aaron Kernan is set to join the Meath backroom team for the 2026 season.
Having been a prominent fixture in the punditry scene in recent years, the 41-year old has also stepped into the world of inter-county coaching in recent times. He was was part of the Sligo coaching ticket this year, linking up with fellow Crossmaglen man Tony McEntee.
McEntee's departure from Sligo has also seen Kernan move on, with the Armagh great now set to link up with Meath.
Robbie Brennan had a couple of high profile departures from his backroom team just before this year's championship, with Joe McMahon and Martin Corey stepping aside. While that was big news at the time, Meath would respond brilliantly by making a deep run in the All-Ireland series.
It will be hoped that the addition of Aaron Kernan can help them kick on from the success they experienced in 2025.
