Airbnb Co-Founder Joe Gebbia to Be Named U.S. Chief Design Officer

Airbnb co-founder and board member Joe Gebbia, who ran a design studio at the company, is taking his design experience to the federal government.

In an executive order issued Thursday, President Trump created a new position, Chief Design Officer, and Bloomberg reported that Airbnb co-founder and board member Joe Gebbia will fill the post.

If appointed, Gebbia will recruit creative talent and consult with government executive departments and agencies to improve the design of their websites. He has already been working to redesign the look and feel of the the federal government's retirement system for the Department of Government Efficiency

A Gebbia spokesperson didn't respond to a request for comment.
