Canadian Travel to the U.S. Falls Sharply Again

Persistent double-digit drops in cross-border trips show Canadians are choosing other options, and many of them are within their own country.
Canadian travelers are still skipping trips in large numbers to the U.S., according to data released on Wednesday by Statistics Canada.
The number of Canadians returning by car from the U.S. dropped 34% in August from last year, marking the eighth consecutive month of declines. Canadians returning by air from the U.S. fell 25.4% in August, a drop that was almost the same as the one Statistics Canada reported in Jskift.
