Prince William: Heir to the throne sends sweet congratulations to 100-year-old

With a heartfelt post on Instagram, Prince William (42) congratulated a lady on her 100th birthday. On Thursday, the British heir to the throne sharedseveral photos and videos with the birthday girl, Christina Charlton, on the account he shared with his wife, Princess Kate (43). "Happy 100th birthday, Chris!" the caption read.

"It was a pleasure to meet Christina Charlton during a recent visit to the Deidre Knight Centre in Forfar, Angus," William continues. The photos are from a nursing home in a small town in the Scottish county of Angus. William visited the home last February, according to a Facebook post from the facility .

In the photos, William sits beaming next to Charlton, laughing with her and holding her hand. The post also features recent photos of the birthday girl wearing a crown, balloons, posters, and a sash that reads "100 and Fabulous." In another photo, she holds her present: an oversized card featuring a photo of her smiling with Prince William.

"We hope you had a wonderful day!" William adds to the post and also takes the opportunity to thank all the staff at the hotel for their daily, dedicated work.

William had just been to Scotland

Even though the photos from the nursing home are already three months old, William's most recent visit to Scotland was just one day ago. From April 29 to 30, he and his wife, Princess Kate, traveled to the islands of Mull and Iona. There, under the banner of the Crown, they visited a community center, a craft market, and a farm, among other things. This stay in Scotland also coincided with their 14th wedding anniversary.
