This shoe trend is the most comfortable (and coolest) of summer 2025
Shoe trend: Wedge sandals can be combined with just about anything – from dresses to skirts to trousers.
Who would have bet on the comeback of wedge sandals? Probably few of us. These shoes, which allow us to reach high without sacrificing comfort, were long frowned upon – but now they seem to be back in fashion, especially on the Spring/Summer 2025 runways.
Whether models made of wood or cork, with Seventies charm, futuristic versions in pastel shades, or with a graphic heel – wedge sandals are inspired by the major fashion houses. The former it-shoe of the 1940s and 1970s (its true golden age) wasn't particularly widespread until now, apart from the catwalks. But with stars sporting the new object of desire, that has quickly changed.

The fashion house Chloé is partly responsible for the comeback of the wedge sandal. Chloé's models presented numerous variations of the shoe for their Spring/Summer 2025 show, from distinctly contemporary versions in pop pink to chocolate brown PVC. While Camille Rowe opted for the colorful version, Sienna Miller preferred a more classic version in black leather.
But Chloé isn't the only house to reclaim wedge sandals. At Dries Van Noten, the trend takes on a futuristic twist with a covetable pastel shade.
