An announced farewell: The exhausted Robert Habeck

Exhausted by what? Exhausted by the election campaign, the defeat and his own people - and exhausted by himself.

There have been two opposing reactions to Robert Habeck's recent resignation from top political positions. One is sometimes malicious joy in those who previously described him as the greatest political evil. For years, the Bild newspaper had given Habeck hundreds of front pages in which he was portrayed as a failure, an ideologue and the primary source of harm to ordinary people. At times one could have the impression that the paper had its own department against him.
