Before FC Bayern's opening match against Auckland City at the Club World Cup, there is talk about transfer needs in the offensive - and about Leroy Sané.

DFB captain Joshua Kimmich sees an urgent need for action in Bayern's attack following the failed signing of Florian Wirtz and the departures of Leroy Sané and Thomas Müller. "Of course, you have the feeling that we could do something with Flo not coming, Leroy being gone, and Thomas being gone," the 30-year-old said on Saturday evening (local time) in Cincinnati, just hours before the German record champions' opening match at the Club World Cup against Auckland City.
Tel before a permanent move to TottenhamBayern Munich's dream player, Wirtz (22), has decided to move from Bayer Leverkusen to English champions Liverpool, much to the disappointment of the Munich bosses. Müller's contract was only extended minimally until after the Club World Cup in the USA. After that, the 35-year-old will leave his beloved club after 25 years. Furthermore, according to media reports, talented striker Mathys Tel (20) is on the verge of a permanent signing by the London club after a loan to Tottenham Hotspur.
Coach Vincent Kompany, however, wants to put transfer issues on hold for the time being. "The solution doesn't have to come now, but after the tournament," the Belgian said at the press conference at the TQL Stadium, where he also focused intensively on Sané.
The 29-year-old signed a lucrative three-year contract with Galatasaray Istanbul this week. Nevertheless, he is expected to play in a maximum of four World Cup matches before his contract expires at the end of the month. Kimmich called this "a special situation" in Cincinnati.
Kompany: "Leroy can help us"Before the match against Auckland, Kompany said he wanted to field Sané. "Leroy can help us. He's still our player," said the Bayern coach. "We didn't want to lose anything up front." International player Jamal Musiala is expected to be carefully reintegrated during the first few World Cup matches following a serious muscle injury. "It gives us time to get Jamal into his rhythm. Hopefully, we'll have Leroy with us for the first four games," said Kompany.
Kimmich wasn't surprised that Sané is leaving FC Bayern after five years: "I'd say the decision was somewhat foreseeable." Nevertheless, he was astonished by Sané's move. "What surprises me is that Leroy is going to Turkey." At Galatasaray, however, Sané can earn significantly more money over the next three years than the Munich club offered him for a contract extension.
