Suspect arrested after fatal shooting in Minnesota

Belle Plaine. According to AP information, the suspected perpetrator of the shootings of several Democratic politicians and their spouses in the US state of Minnesota has been arrested. A police official, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed the arrest to the AP on Sunday evening (local time).

On Saturday morning, a suspect shot former Democratic Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, killing both in the attack.

Representative John Hoffman, also a Democrat, and his wife Yvette were similarly attacked in their home 15 kilometers away, but survived. Governor Tim Walz described the attacks as politically motivated.
