The most expensive hi-fi system in the world

How much does it cost to take the most expensive of each hi-fi component and put together a system? More than three million euros. We took a look.
Three million euros. That's how much the Bugatti Chiron, the Princess F58 motor yacht, a five-room apartment in Frankfurt, or a bronze sculpture by Camille Claudel cost. At Audio Reference, you get (presumably) the world's most expensive hi-fi system for that price – a superlative indeed. To allow you to listen to it in peace, the Hamburg-based audio distributor reserved a large room at the High End trade fair in Munich and decorated it as a concert hall. Registered visitors are allowed to listen to this system for a quarter of an hour, even though there are probably no potential buyers among them. While waiting for the first sound, you discover absorbers and other acoustic elements from Vicoustic. After all, what good are the best devices if the room ruins the sound? That's why Audio Reference prepared the room to avoid nasty modes and nasty vibrations.
