Agreement reached: Tah moves to Bayern early

Jonathan Tah was originally supposed to move from Bayer Leverkusen to FC Bayern Munich on a free transfer. Now Bayer is finally getting the money.
According to media reports, the German record champions are transferring €800,000 to Leverkusen for the central defender, so that Munich can field Tah at the upcoming Club World Cup. Depending on Bayern's performance, the sum could rise to over €1 million.
Tah's contract runs until June 30Tah's move to Bayern this summer has been finalized since last week and would not have required a transfer fee. However, since the defender's contract with Leverkusen doesn't expire until after June 30, negotiations will have to be reopened for the Club World Cup. Coach Vincent Kompany's team will play their first match there on June 15.
Tah is currently still with the German national team. Coach Julian Nagelsmann's team will face France in a third-place match in the Nations League on Sunday ( live via audio stream on sportschau.de starting at 3:00 p.m. ).
Not the first transfer fee for a two-week contractAn early signing is only possible thanks to a transfer window introduced by FIFA specifically for the Club World Cup. Bayern Munich intends to take advantage of this with Tom Bischof in mind. The midfielder will join from TSG Hoffenheim in the summer, and the Kraichgau club is also likely to demand a fee for his early release.
Real Madrid also paid a large transfer fee this summer for a player who will be available for free in July. According to consistent media reports, the "Royals" paid around ten million euros to Liverpool FC to allow England international Trent Alexander-Arnold to participate in the Club World Cup.
