In Arganda there was a smell of bullfighter: Emiliano Osornio and a masterpiece

The fifth bull was spectacular, a bull in every sense of the word. But he had been disabled from the moment he came out. Nevertheless, even though he was lame, he was a brave bull and charged fiercely through the bullpen area, putting his horn between the bars and even striking a gentleman standing there with his hand. The substitute bull, also very serious, came out skimming the boards through the bullpen area as well. Everyone was already running backward, like a soul from hell, given the barred structure of part of this bullring. There, seeing the black-clad bulls so close they could touch them, it gives more credit to a guy, just a 21-year-old kid in this case, not only not running away, but actually calling him and going to meet him. And that's what Osornio tried to do with bullfighting skill, although the bullfighter from Torrenueva came out rather loose.

And with his montera lowered, the Mexican busied himself with giving it two trincherazos (passes) at the start. The bull didn't quite show its face at first, but he delivered some classy natural passes, with precise touch and just the right distance. On the right side, the animal tended to come out wide, but Osornio kept the muleta so well placed on its face that it incited it, and it ended up charging the bull well. The crowd was completely behind the Mexican, who improvised with knee-on-the-ground chest passes, Morantist molinetes, more extraordinary trincherazos, and flower passes. Emiliano was completely dedicated, getting the bull to surrender and making it look even better. A blue handkerchief went to the bullfighter from Torrenueva, who ended up being brave, and two ears went to the novillero, who couldn't believe the great performance he had just put together. He excitedly applauded the bull on its return to the ring, tightly squeezing the two ears that he will surely place in a place of honor in his house.

With his first, Osornio was able to demonstrate how well he performs the verónica with his arms. But two puyazos and two flips later, in addition to many more cape passes throughout the fight, meant that the young bullfighter reached the final third of the ring, looking only at the pens. Emiliano performed beautifully, but little else. The best thing the Mexican did was not to bore the audience and to grab the sword early, which must have hurt his right shoulder with the jabs.

Fariseo opened the afternoon, not even making a mistake in the first few passes. Furthermore, he was short on strength—thank goodness, because he pushed towards the inside, and it was a difficult experience to place banderillas in this beautiful, but very steep, bullring with few shelters. "This bull... nothing," a little girl said to her mother. The girl was delighted when the Aldeanueva bull, with more size and courage than many five-year-old bulls, approached the boards. What courage the little girl had, not taking her eyes off what was happening in the ring! Her mother was desperate, thinking that the poison of wanting to be a bullfighter had already entered her daughter... because, besides, her assessment at the beginning of the faena was very accurate: the bull had nothing. Jesús Romero, who gave him a good trincherazo at the beginning, left him well-off with the cloth, and tried to make the most of what he had. The boy improvised as best he could, but the classless animal was also violent, and little could be extracted from it. What was most in his power, the stab, was executed perfectly, and the bull fell in just five seconds.

Romero's reception of the fourth bull was varied, with knee-on-the-ground veronicas and aprons. The bull... lived its life. It came out loose, constantly looking at the boards. And so the first thirds went. Jesús went to his knees to try to liven up the charge of the lifeless bull, which, paradoxically, was called Alegrías. The Aldeanueva bull had no life, no joy, nothing of the sort. Just a tenacious bullfighter in front of him, who ended with manoletinas, trying to draw the bull's attention in, already somewhat disconnected from what was happening in the ring. Once again, the best came with the sword.

Fragor took off like a rocket and finished well in the shelters. Víctor del Pozo fought him very well, with just the right amount of cape passes. But the picador made a mess… Ignacio Candelas has a great sense of humor, and he showed that against the third bull, a classless bull, who kept glancing at him, almost imperceptible but frightening, because he also stumbled, remaining very short with his natural stroke, without making a consistent charge. In one of those, he took him down, throwing him several meters in the air. The young man stepped forward again without even looking, again with the muleta in his left hand, and the bull was left under him again. Perhaps Ignacio lacked a little power, but the bull probably would have split if it had crashed from below. In any case, the young man was incredibly brave.

With the sixth, we returned to the main bull. Another impressive bull, but lacking in commitment and weak. Candela tried to organize his charges, but between his inexperience, what he'd experienced with the previous bull, and the fact that this bullfighter wasn't worth anything, there was little to show for it. The young man quickly grabbed the sword, and we were grateful for that.
