The Colombian Foreign Ministry has issued an alert for Colombians in Hong Kong and Macau due to the risk of Tropical Cyclone Ragasa strengthening into a super typhoon in the coming hours.
According to the Hong Kong Observatory, the most adverse conditions are expected on September 24 and 25 , with winds of up to 200 km/h, heavy rains, and flooding in coastal areas.

"We ask the Colombian community to: Raise their alert and preparedness levels, stay informed through official channels, and take precautions against extreme winds and storm surges," the Foreign Ministry stated.
Super Typhoon Ragasa, the strongest storm of the year, made landfall in the northern Philippines on Monday with winds exceeding 265 kilometers per hour, while several Asian countries have stepped up precautionary measures ahead of its passage, which is expected to force the evacuation of hundreds of thousands of people.
The intensity of the storm, which is expected to move through the South China Sea over the next 72 hours, is the strongest recorded worldwide this year, according to Japan's meteorological agency.

In China, the southern city of Shenzhen plans to evacuate 400,000 people ahead of the arrival of a super typhoon, authorities reported on the city's Emergency Management WeChat account.
Other cities in Guangdong province, where Shenzhen is located, announced the cancellation of classes, workdays, and transportation services due to the typhoon.
Hong Kong airline Cathay Pacific announced Monday that it plans to cancel more than 500 flights due to the arrival of Ragasa.
