After a long weekend marked by rainfall and localized thunderstorms, the week begins with instability in part of the country , as indicated by Météo-France . This Tuesday, May 13, a warning remains in effect for several departments, with locally intense thunderstorms expected, mainly in the west and southwest of the country.

Several departments on alert this Monday

This Monday, May 12, Météo France placed 39 departments on yellow alert for the risk of thunderstorms . An electrical episode that will mainly affect the east of France.

According to forecasts from Météo-France and La Chaîne Météo, the weather remains unsettled near the Atlantic, where clouds dominate . However, the weather conditions will calm down. Showers will be rarer, although there will be localized thunderstorms in the afternoon, particularly in Brittany and around the Massif Central.

In the eastern half, the sun is gradually gaining ground, and temperatures are rising several degrees, reaching 24 to 25°C in places, particularly in the southeast and the Rhône Valley. In terms of temperatures, highs will be around 16 to 24°C, depending on the region.

This Tuesday, May 13, the situation will gradually improve, but not for everyone. Some regions will once again be exposed to locally intense thunderstorms, which may be accompanied by heavy rain and even hail in some places .

According to Météo France forecasts, thunderstorms could also affect an axis extending from Normandy to the Swiss border, passing through the center-east of the country. This instability is also explained by the period of the Ice Saints , which ends this Tuesday.

Starting Wednesday, the sun will return, particularly in the northern half of the country . Temperatures will climb above 20°C across much of the country, reaching 25°C in Paris and Reims, for example.
