Fencing: CE Boulazac relaunches its season with William Vert as conductor

The CEB will soon reopen its doors as an event is being prepared for the end of August.
In less than a month, the doors of the Boulazac fencing club's fencing hall will be open again to welcome as many people as possible who wish to practice fencing for sport, leisure, competition, show, and even lightsaber. William Vert, the CEB's head instructor since 2022, will be present to introduce and support all fencers in their progress.
Passion for the stageThe native of the Paris region discovered sport fencing at military high school but never really practiced it in competition, being more attracted to the stage and show fencing, allowing him to exercise his passion for the discipline but also his stage sense and his art of stunts.
Arriving in the Southwest, he first joined the Corrèze troupe Quo Vadis, before joining the Compagnie d'armes du Périgord, the CEB's artistic fencing troupe. After training, rehearsing, and performing, he quickly became one of the pillars of the troupe and the club, where he even joined the steering committee for a season alongside Olivier Baraton, president of the CEB.
After a summer at the wheel of his Fencing Truck crisscrossing the roads of Périgord to introduce fencing and its values, William will look ahead to a new season which will begin with a recovery course for competitors on August 25, 26 and 27, before the grand reopening.
A major event announced at the end of AugustOn the sporting front, the challenge will be significant after a season that saw a very positive dynamic driven by William, Vert, also technical director of the federal pre-training center accredited by the French Fencing Federation (two bronze medals at the French M15 team championships, one gold medal at the French N2 M15 championships, 22 qualifications, all categories combined, for the finals of the French championships, eight Nouvelle-Aquitaine championship titles, 17 medals including nine titles at the Dordogne championships, three selections in the M17 European Cup and one in the Senior World Cup).
From the beginning of September, William Vert's weeks, accompanied by Mathieu Gauvert on a work-study contract within the CEB, will be well-paced, with the organization of the new meeting around sport "vis ton sport", organized by the town hall of Boulazac in particular.
