Fivizzano (Massa-Carrara), August 13, 2025 – The Caminada di San Cassiano , a record-breaking running race this year, has successfully reached its 40th edition: over 120 athletes participated in the competitive event, for a total of 260 participants. A truly festive town, with countless children and families enlivening an afternoon of sport and shared joy. As is tradition, there was also great enthusiasm for the youth races, held through the streets of the village.
Gragnola is located in the municipality of Fivizzano, on the alluvial plain of the Lucido and Aulella streams. The name appears to derive from the grain trade, which developed here in the Middle Ages. The first historical records of the village date back to the 10th century, when Gragnola was a small town dominated by Castel dell'Aquila, which still towers over the town today. At the time, the town was a possession of the noble Bianchi d'Erberia family, Domini di Fosdinovo.
Rounding out the day is the traditional food festival, featuring abundant fried fish and mixed roasts, a perfect opportunity for runners and visitors to linger until late into the evening with dancing and music. Thanks to the warm welcome and high-quality organization, this event deserves a permanent place in the calendar of those vacationing in Versilia. Photo shoot by ETS Regalami un Sorriso
