Every day a different way, in Ischia the International Camp Ischia with Basketball

The first edition of International Camp Ischia concluded with enthusiasm and great participation, a sporting event that transformed the island into a true laboratory for growth and discussion, thanks to the organization of Cestistica Ischia in collaboration with Always Basketball and Pallacanestro College Borgomanero.

From June 30th to July 4th, children and teenagers aged 8 to 18 had the opportunity to experience intense days of training, play, and sharing, immersed in a multicultural and motivating atmosphere.

Cestistica Ischia has once again demonstrated that it is much more than a sports club. Thanks to its innovative vision and ability to build international relationships, it has created a training program that combines technical education with cultural openness. Training sessions, held in English and other European languages, provided a unique opportunity to test the athletes' skills not only on a sporting level, but also on a human and relational level.

On the court, a group of top-notch coaches from various countries accompanied the participants on this development journey. Brazilian coach Gabriel Andrade brought energy and professionalism, offering valuable insights into intensity and dynamic play. Polish coach and referee Hania Malgoranza Steciuk captivated everyone with her technical vision and ability to convey educational values ​​through basketball.

Adriana Coralluzzo, from Italy, guided the students with passion and attention to fundamentals, while João Maria Ribeiro Henriques, from Portugal, encouraged the participants with a working method based on building trust and autonomy. Spanish coach Diaz Abel Gonzalo added a touch of creativity and rigor typical of the Iberian school, contributing to the variety of styles and approaches.

The Camp had an intense structure, with varied daily sessions, all conducted under the motto "Every day a different way." Each day was unique, offering new challenges and experiences: from technical discussions to language learning, through recreational and educational activities. A particularly heartfelt moment was "NBA Day," where the young athletes immersed themselves in an experience modeled after American professional basketball, breathing in dreams, passion, and inspiration. Despite the summer heat, the participants' enthusiasm never wavered, demonstrating how motivation and a desire to learn can overcome any challenge.

Cestistica Ischia President Maria D'Abundo expressed great pride in the outcome of this first edition. "It was an intense first experience, full of energy, excitement, and a lot of teamwork. Many young people from the island, along with those vacationing on our beautiful island, participated with enthusiasm and passion. The Camp made its mark, and we're already working on organizing next year's edition, with many new features on the way."

The Camp's success was also made possible thanks to the support of sponsors Hotel Royal Terme – DicoHotels Ischia Resorts and L'Altra Mezzanotte Restaurant, who welcomed the staff and guests from around the world with professionalism and warmth. The Camp was not only a training ground, but also a meeting place for cultures, languages, experiences, and dreams. It demonstrated how sport can be a powerful educational tool and how Cestistica Ischia's vision can capitalize on every opportunity, transforming it into something lasting and meaningful. The Ischian summer continues, and with it, Cestistica Ischia's activities, which don't stop even during the hottest months. Strengthened by this success, the club is already looking forward to the 2025 International Camp with confidence and ambition. Because Ischia is here, and basketball here is synonymous with passion, identity, and the future.
