The athletes flew to Japan
Jesi (Ancona), August 3, 2025 - Judo Samurai Jesi flies to Japan: a bridge between cultures, sport, and inclusion. A year of success, a summer of dreams come true. In recent days, ten black belt athletes from Judo Samurai Jesi departed for Japan, their destination being the University of Tsukuba, one of the world's temples of judo. The athletes taking part in this extraordinary experience are: Andrea Ciccarelli, Dhia Mtiraoui, Federico Venè, Francesco Papalini, Giacomo Carosi, Nicola Carosi, Gianmarco Coppari, Michele Rossini, Michele Strappa, and Alex Ntipadem, accompanied by Master Riccardo Coppari, founder and guiding light of the club. This trip is not just a sporting journey, but a genuine cultural and human exchange, born from years of collaboration between Jesi and Tsukuba, strengthened in 2024 by the presence in Jesi of Japanese master Oshima Yusho. During their stay, the students will train with top Japanese athletes, including world runner-up Goki Tajima, who will also be a guest in Italy for the international training camp in September. From September 2nd to 7th, Jesi will become the European Capital of Inclusive Judo for the international judo camp organized at the Jesi Sports Hall, as part of the European Judo4Sen project. Delegations from 13 countries will arrive to participate in the European project's international week. "This is an ambitious and necessary project," Judo Samurai explains, "which focuses on young people with disabilities, autism, behavioral and learning difficulties, and guides them on a journey of personal growth through Judo." This vision is guided by the conative methodology developed in 2001 by Claudio Coppari: "An educational approach that values each individual, respecting their time, needs, and potential," as he himself defines it. After 25 years of quiet but effective work, this method is now recognized throughout Europe and will be shared with: Italy, Romania, France, the Czech Republic, Germany, Slovenia, Portugal, Ireland, Croatia, Spain, Bulgaria, Turkey, Albania, and Japan, under the patronage of the European Flag. Judo for Sen means "doing Judo for good." It's not just technique, it's education, presence, and respect. It's about building a future together where sport is truly for everyone. The project was officially presented on July 2nd, in the presence of the Jesi Councilor for Sport, who emphasized the educational, social, and cultural value of the initiative.
