Salah attacks UEFA: can we say how the "Palestinian Pelé" died?

Mohamed Salah isn't having it. The Egyptian star took to social media to criticize UEFA for its online tribute to the "Palestinian Pelé," Suleiman al-Obeid, whose death was announced last Wednesday by the Palestinian Football Federation.

According to the Palestinian Football Federation, the footballer was killed by Israeli gunfire during an aid distribution in the Gaza Strip.

UEFA's social media post reads, "Farewell to Suleimanal-Obeid, the 'Palestinian Pelé'. A talent who gave hope to countless children, even in the darkest moments."

This is why Salah decided to intervene polemically: "Can we say how he died, where, and why?" The Egyptian footballer is no stranger to public statements in support of the people of Gaza.

Two years ago, Salah had donated to the Egyptian Red Crescent to help fund relief efforts in the region and frequently pleaded for an end to the "massacres."

Suleiman al-Obeid, who played 24 games for the Palestinian national team and scored more than 100 career goals, was 41 years old and the father of five.

According to the Palestinian Football Federation, al-Obeid and his team have killed at least 321 of their members in the war in Gaza, including players, coaches, and managers, and double that number if athletes from other disciplines are also considered.
