Barcelona taxis declare war on Barça: they will cause a traffic jam around the Olympic Stadium during a Champions League match.

The Elite Taxi association has called for a strike next Tuesday, coinciding with the Champions League match between Barcelona and Olympiacos, in protest of an agreement between the club and the ride-hailing company Uber.
Starting at 5:00 p.m., the group is calling for taxis to advance in a "column" toward the Barcelona offices on Travessera de Les Corts, with the aim of "closing the entire area surrounding Camp Nou."
A second "column" will head toward the Olympic Stadium, where they hope to "completely surround the stadium in protest," according to a statement released Saturday by Elite Taxi.
The group announces that there will be informational pickets at both terminals of Barcelona Airport and Sants station, and assures that "there will be no taxi service anywhere in the city."
Barcelona and Uber plan to present an agreement on Wednesday to make Uber the club's new "official partner," a pact for which no details have been provided.
Elite Taxi is calling on the club to "immediately rectify and break any commercial agreement with Uber," a company that, in its view, "has been attacking the city's public transportation system for years."
