The Coahuila government provides support to children of femicide victims.

The Government of Coahuila published in the Official State Gazette the decree granting extraordinary support to children and adolescents who are daughters and sons of female victims of the crime of femicide that occurred in this entity, during the period from January 1, 2013, to December 31, 2024, and who are included in the Femicide Registry of the State Attorney General's Office.
The extraordinary support may include the following items: Financial support in the amount of 4,000 pesos, granted bimonthly to each child and adolescent, from January 1 to December 31, 2025.
According to the schedule, the third bimonthly report, corresponding to May and June, is due on June 16 of this year, while the fourth bimonthly report, corresponding to July and August, is due on August 15.
The fifth bimonthly report, corresponding to September and October, is due on October 15, and the sixth bimonthly report, corresponding to November and December, is due on December 15. The first bimonthly report, corresponding to January and February, is scheduled for February 17, 2025, and the second bimonthly report, corresponding to March and April, is scheduled for April 15.
The financial support will be provided through the Office of the Ombudsman for Children and the Family (Pronnif), through the regional Sub-Ombudsman's Offices, subject to compliance with the requirements established in Article 6 of the decree. These include proof of identity of the child and/or adolescent; recognition of their status as an indirect victim of femicide, according to the Femicide Registry; the minors must be enrolled in elementary, middle, or high school, when applicable based on their age; have parental authority, guardianship, and custody; and the identity of the person caring for the child and/or adolescent; and residency in Coahuila.
The decree also includes persons over 18 years of age who have requested or received an extension pursuant to the aforementioned Article 6.
The decree establishes the provision of health services provided by the Coahuila Health Secretariat; the issuance of the "La mera, mera" card to persons with parental authority, guardianship, and custody, as well as a quarterly scholarship of 2,000 pesos.
Pronnif is authorized to monitor beneficiaries and support through home visits, requesting supporting documentation demonstrating receipt of goods and/or services. If improper management of support is identified, the administration of funds will be suspended or limited until the situation is clarified.
The State Finance Secretariat must allocate the budget items to comply with the decree, in addition to the girls, boys and/or adolescents who are indirect victims of the commission of the crime of femicide of their mother during this 2025 , may be beneficiaries at the request of the Coahuila Prosecutor's Office and provided there is budget availability.
