Arturo Ortega calls for real opportunities for his players in the First Division.

After winning the Champion of Champions title in the Liga de Expansión MX, Tapatío's technical director, Arturo Ortega , stated that he hopes his players who receive an opportunity in the first division stay with the first team and do not return.

“Now there might be an opportunity, and not just for them to go, observe them, and return. The important thing is that they don't send them back; the important thing is that they stay, as happened in the previous tournament. And well, players, I think the older players we have here—or rather, I should say that, because they're not older—I think they've stood up very well in these last two games of the regular season. And well, it's not up to me; it's up to us as a coaching staff to keep them prepared, so they don't get sick,” he noted.

Likewise, he emphasized that there are many players who will have to go through a process , so they lack more tools to reach the first division, so he hopes the championship doesn't distort them or make them feel they deserve everything.

“Sometimes, when we're champions, we think we deserve everything. It's a process; every game is a process. I want us to be understood that way abroad, for them to understand it that way: that there are kids who still lack the tools. We're a young team, a team that's been working for six months, and in the last tournament we'd already worked for a year. We win the title, and eight players are promoted, and two leave for another team. And now it's time to continue, as I feel, with a push for them, to arrive at the next semester better prepared,” he added.

In the end, he said he was happy with the achievement, as it was a recognition of the team , so he hopes this title will be a boost for what comes next in the tournament.

“Huge, with my coaching staff. A reward for the work, a reward for the day-to-day work, for not stopping fighting, for not stopping asking for opportunities, for not stopping insisting with the kids, for knowing perfectly well what our business is, and our business is them. Our drive and our dream is to share, because every day we dream of being called up. And well, that's the fundamental part. I'm very happy with how these two games played out, and well, let it serve as experience, let it serve as momentum for what comes next in the tournament,” he concluded.
