Charros block rival offense and tie the series against Acereros de Monclova

After several games of pitching difficulties, Luis Payan took the win at the Pan American Stadium on Saturday, leading the Charros de Jalisco to a 2-3 victory over the Acereros de Monclova , tying the series .
Although the Steelers stunned Jalisco with a pair of runs in the third and fourth innings, Payán recovered to thwart the visiting offense and keep Jalisco alive . In six and a third innings of work, the Sinaloa native registered just one hit, two runs, three walks, and three strikeouts.
In addition to the work done by Luis Payán, the Charros' bullpen was also up to par, keeping opposing hitters at bay . Aaron McGarity and Josh Green came in for the relief pitch, not allowing a single hit and not issuing any walks, closing out the night with impeccable pitching.
Meanwhile, on the offensive side, Jalisco only needed a three-run rally in the bottom of the sixth inning. A single by Kyle Garlick brought Mallex Smith to the plate, breaking the score for Jalisco, as they had been unable to overcome the accurate pitching of pitcher Christian Young.
Allen Córdoba then added another single, which Drew Stankiewicz capitalized on, allowing Young to retire due to the lack of confidence he was projecting on the mound. However, the relief pitcher couldn't prevent the loss, as Garlick was able to score after a fake out by the pitcher and seal the victory.
The duel to determine the final winner of this series will be played this Sunday, June 8, at 5:00 p.m. at the Zapopan venue.
