PSV signs goalkeeper Olij as replacement for Benítez
PSV has completed the transfer of Sparta Rotterdam goalkeeper Nick Olij. The 29-year-old goalkeeper has signed a four-year contract with the national champions after passing the medical examination.
Olij has been a goalkeeper for Sparta since 2022, who took him over from NAC Breda. He was previously also of interest to Feyenoord and Ajax. The goalkeeper is said to have cost PSV around 3 million euros.
PSV was looking for a goalkeeper because Walter Benítez left the club at the end of the season. PSV still has a goalkeeper under contract in Joël Drommel.
"With Nick we have an excellent option for the position under the bar. He is very strong in playing along and fits in very well with the playing philosophy that we and our coach advocate," says director of football affairs Earnest Stewart on the PSV website.
