VfL Wolfsburg announces arrival of Go Ahead coach Simonis

Paul Simonis is the new coach of VfL Wolfsburg. The 40-year-old coach comes from cup winner Go Ahead Eagles and has signed a contract with the German club for two seasons.
Simonis started his first job as head coach at Go Ahead last summer. He led the club from Deventer to seventh place in the Eredivisie and the victory of the KNVB Cup by beating AZ in the final. Last month, Simonis extended his contract with Go Ahead Eagles until the summer of 2027.
VfL Wolfsburg finished 11th in the Bundesliga last season. The German club fired coach Ralph Hasenhüttl at the beginning of May.
