Tennis players who want to freeze eggs get protected ranking

American Sloane Stephens, winner of the 2017 US Open, campaigned for egg freezing to be recognized as a protected ranking activity.
Effect on healthThe 32-year-old tennis player previously told BBC Sport that she had used the off-season to freeze her eggs twice. According to her, it had a major effect on her fitness, health and state of mind. For example, she told the British broadcaster that she quickly started playing tennis again after freezing her eggs the first time. This despite gaining weight and feeling stressed.
"It's a matter of trial and error, every body is different," Stephens said. "Some people are out for three months, others for a week." She called the WTA's decision a "groundbreaking step."
