A New York City Councilwoman Called for the… Deportation of One of the Mayoral Candidates

New York City Councilwoman Vickie Paladino has called for the deportation of one of the Big Apple's key mayoral candidates, Zohran Mamdani. Paladino did not provide a specific basis for her decision, saying only that Mamdani has been a U.S. citizen for less than 10 years and, combined with his far-left views, electing him as city mayor would be "crazy."

“Let’s talk about how insane it is to elect someone to any important office who hasn’t been a US citizen for [at least – ed.] ten years – let alone a radical leftist who actually hates everything about [this – ed.] country and is here to undermine everything it’s ever been about. Deport,” Vickie Paladino wrote Wednesday night, responding to Mamdani’s 2019 tweet in which the New York mayoral candidate endorsed Sen. Bernie Sanders.

The New York City Councilwoman’s office later admitted that Mamdani was not eligible for deportation, but “would likely be removed” if he did not have a U.S. passport — due to his ties to “anti-Semitic organizations.”

Paladino's post sparked heated discussion on social media. Her office said the councilor had received numerous threats and was given police protection at home and at work.

Despite the alleged threats, Paladino attacked Mamdani again, posting a photo on social media of a doctored T-shirt from Mamdani’s campaign merchandise line that read, “Deport Zohran from NYC,” with the caption, “New drop? Yes/No?”
