Copenhagen: Tourist, do something for the environment and we will provide you with attractions
- We hope our guests leave Copenhagen inspired - to cycle more, choose more plant-based meals and continue to make more conscious choices wherever they go, she adds.
Copenhagen's idea is being picked up by other citiesCopenPay’s reach has already extended beyond Copenhagen. More than a hundred destinations around the world have asked Wonderful Copenhagen to share their experiences with the program. Furthermore, CopenPay’s principles have become part of the EU’s Transition Pathway for Tourism program.
This year, three times as many tourist attractions and businesses have signed up to the program than last year, more than a hundred of them, including the National Museum, the State Museum of Art, Kronborg Castle in Helsingør, the Copenhill Sports and Viewpoint, the GoBoat boat rental and the Donkey Republic bike rental. They will offer their services for free or at a discount in exchange for cleaning, cycling or using public transport and eating plant-based food. This year, for the first time, there will also be a reward for arriving in Copenhagen by train or electric car, or for subsidizing sustainable SAF fuel when travelling by plane, as well as for a longer stay (at least four nights).

What other rewards can a tourist expect? For example, a free bike rental, a yoga session, a meal at a restaurant or a guided tour.
CopenPay is generally based on trust, but for some rewards the sponsor may ask for proof, such as a train ticket, a photo of you riding a bike or proof of participation in a clean-up. For more information, see copenpay.com.
