The Lubaczów police station reminds us of the rules for riding an electric scooter:Place of movement:
- The bike path is the primary place for scooter riding. The speed limit is 20 km/h,
- the road is only permitted when the speed limit is 30 km/h and there is no bicycle path,
- You can only ride on the sidewalk in exceptional cases, when there is no bike lane or road with a 30 km/h speed limit. In such cases, you should ride at a speed similar to that of pedestrians and give way to them.
Safety rules:
- ban on transporting passengers, animals or large loads,
- the obligation to exercise particular caution when passing pedestrians,
- no riding next to each other, on the road and on the bicycle path you must ride alone.
Age and eligibility:
- Children under 10 years of age cannot use electric scooters in public spaces, only on private property and under the supervision of an adult,
- young people aged 10-18 should have a bicycle card or an appropriate driving license,
- Adults do not need additional documents.
Alcohol and responsibility:
- Driving an electric scooter under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicants is prohibited,
- a drunk driver is liable to a fine of PLN 2,500, and in the event of causing an accident, also to criminal liability.
We urge caution and sobriety. Riding an electric scooter while intoxicated not only carries the risk of hefty fines, but above all, poses a significant risk to life and health.
