Kamil Grosicki played for the Polish national football team for the last time in a friendly match against Moldova. The experienced winger left the pitch in the 32nd minute of the match, leaving the pitch to the applause of the fans. The player covered the last meters to the sideline in a line formed for him by his teammates from the national team. At the Silesian Stadium in Chorzów, Poland won against Moldova 2:0.

In the 32nd minute, right after Matty Cash scored a goal for Poland, Grosicki was replaced on the pitch by Karol Świderski. When "Grosik" was leaving the pitch, the fans clapped and chanted "thank you". The player covered the last meters to the sideline in a line formed by his teammates and members of the white-and-red training staff. Then he fell into the arms of his loved ones, his wife Dominika and children.
In the 88th minute of the match , Bartosz Slisz scored a goal to make it 2-0 and that was the end of the match.

Grosicki made his debut for the national team on February 2, 2008 in a friendly match against Finland (1:0). He played a total of 95 matches for the national team , scoring 17 goals and providing 24 assists. He participated in three European Championships (2012, 2016, 2024) and two World Cups (2018, 2022).
- Every training camp and every match was a great honor and pride for me. I will definitely remember the farewell match for the rest of my life - said "Grosik" at a press conference held on Thursday.
The footballer announced his retirement from the national team during last year's European Championships in Germany. - It was a well-considered decision. I first informed coach Michał Probierz. Everything ends eventually and - as the song says - 'you have to know when to leave the stage'. I left after the European Championships. This season I trained hard to show my best side in the farewell match. My beautiful story has ended, but I hope that on Friday I will show something cool to the fans - he announced.
On Sunday, Grosicki will celebrate his 37th birthday . Despite this, he is still one of the best players in the Ekstraklasa. Last season, he played 39 matches in all competitions for Pogoń Szczecin, scoring 10 goals and providing 15 assists.

Grosicki assisted Lewandowski in many goals in the national team matches.
- Of all the assists, the most important one was in the quarter-final of Euro 2016 against Portugal, although I also remember his beautiful pass in the match against Germany in Frankfurt - said the captain of the national team. Grosicki stood out with his speed. He was famous for his frequent dribbling and crossing into the penalty area. One of his nicknames was "Turbo Grosik" .
