Musk Wants Trump Impeached: 'It's in Epstein's Files, That's Why They're Not Publishing Them'

Billionaire Elon Musk spoke out on Thursday on X in favor of impeaching US President Donald Trump. He also said the tariffs announced by the US leader would trigger a recession in the second half of the year.
Musk responded "yes" to an Internet user's post in which he expressed his belief that Trump should be impeached and replaced by Vice President J.D. Vance.
In one of his next posts, the billionaire assessed that the import tariffs announced by President Trump would result in a recession in the second half of the year.
He also addressed Trump’s earlier suggestion that he might end government contracts with Musk’s companies. “In light of the President’s announcement canceling my government contracts, SpaceX will immediately begin retiring its Dragon spacecraft,” Musk wrote.
Musk also wrote that Trump is allegedly listed in a file on convicted billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who is accused of sexually abusing underage girls. That is why, according to Musk, some of the documents have not been disclosed. The Tesla CEO did not provide evidence to support his claims.
Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public.
Have a nice day, DJT!
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) June 5, 2025
Trump, meanwhile, took to his social media site Truth Social to say he has no problem with Musk “turning his back on him, but he should have done that months ago.” Earlier in the day, he admitted to being disappointed with Musk for criticizing his spending bill, saying the billionaire was crazy.
Reuters, citing a source, reported that Trump's top advisers held several meetings on Thursday about the effects of Elon Musk's tweets.
