Who will win in the second round? Expert says it straight: Then it will be "razor-blade"

On Sunday, May 18 at 9:00 PM, we learned the results of the exit poll, and after a few more hours, the results of the late poll , which is more accurate. Both polls show that Rafał Trzaskowski and Karol Nawrocki will face off in the second round of the presidential election. In third place was Sławomir Mentzen, who was the only one of the remaining candidates to gain support of a dozen or so percent.
Presidential Elections 2025. Expert Has No Doubt: Everything Is in PlayDr. Bartosz Rydliński, a political scientist from Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw, commented on the exit poll results. "If we look at the total number of voters of the government block and the opposition to it, there is a huge disproportion: almost 40 percent for the first block and over 50 percent support for Nawrocki, Mentzen and Braun. But everything is in the game and it is difficult to predict now who will win the second round, because the results from the first round of Trzaskowski and Nawrocki may cause motivation and demotivation in the vote in two weeks," the expert commented in an interview with Onet.
Dr. Rydliński also recalled the words of Grzegorz Schetyna, which return during election campaigns – “elections are not won in Wilanów, but in Końskie”. – Therefore, the basic question now is how voters from small and medium-sized Polish towns will behave, how they will find their way in the dispute between Trzaskowski and Nawrocki, between PO and PiS, because they will tip the scales of victory in two weeks – indicated the political scientist.
The expert also noted the combined result of Mentzen and Braun, which exceeds 20 percent. "Poland is very much tilted to the right compared to Europe. And if Mentzen and Braun voters go out in full to vote for Nawrocki, he has a greater chance of winning. But if not, in two weeks everything will be "on a razor blade" and then it is really difficult to predict the result," concluded Dr. Bartosz Rydliński.
