Do Russians Like Us? Here Are the Survey Results

According to a Levada Center survey, Poland is the second most disliked country in Russia. In May, as many as 70 percent of respondents expressed an unfavorable attitude, while 16 percent expressed a positive attitude.
The answers to the question "how do you generally view Poland now" show that women had a better attitude towards Poland - 20 percent, people under 24 years of age - 31 percent, respondents who believed that things in Russia were going in the wrong direction - 25 percent and people who trust YouTube channels as a source of information - 26 percent.
A worse attitude towards Poland is shown by men - 78 percent, seniors over 55 years of age - 83 percent, people who believe that things in the country are going in the right direction - 76 percent and those who trust television as a source of information - 76 percent.
At the same time, when asked to name the five countries most hostile towards Russia, the survey participants listed Poland in a rather distant fifth place - 37 percent.
Germany is more likely to be viewed as hostile (55%), Great Britain (49%), Ukraine (43%) and the USA (40%). A year earlier, the United States was viewed as hostile by as many as 76% of respondents.
The respondents were also asked about the countries that are Russia's closest friends. Russians most often consider Belarus to be such (80%), China (64%), Kazakhstan (36%), India (32%) and North Korea (30%). It is worth mentioning that when a representative sample of Russians was asked the same question in 2023, only five out of a hundred respondents mentioned North Korea.
