No longer the US and not even Ukraine. Who do Russians consider their main enemy?

For a dozen or so years, the United States has been viewed by Russians as the world's greatest enemy. This sentiment continued until the end of last year, when as many as 76 percent of Russians said the United States was the most unfriendly and hostile country. It seems that President Donald Trump has managed to change that.

The resumption of contacts with the Kremlin, numerous telephone conversations between the US President and Vladimir Putin and the months-long behind-the-scenes American-Russian talks have caused the Russians to change their minds about the United States.
