It will start on June 9. The government will pay those willing to pay PLN 6,000 gross

• The 2025 military qualification has already ended in Poland.
• Nearly 200,000 people subject to this obligation appeared before the commissions. This is almost 10,000 more people than last year.
• As a result, over 4,600 people in Poland can be assigned to various types of military service. Applications have already been submitted.

The purpose of the mandatory military qualification, which lasted from early February to 30 April 2025, was to determine the fitness for active military service:

• men born in 2006,
• men born between 2001 and 2005 who have not yet had a specific category of fitness for active military service,
• persons who were deemed temporarily unfit for military service in 2023-2024,
• women born in the years 1998-2006, with qualifications useful for military service and women studying to obtain these qualifications,
• persons who are over 18 years of age and volunteer for military qualifications.

In all of Poland , nearly 200,000 people subject to this obligation appeared before the commissions . This is nearly 10,000 more people than last year. In the Silesian province alone, over 24,000 men and women were summoned to appear before the district medical commissions.

It turns out that this year's qualification has tangible effects. Almost 200 people taking part in this year's military qualification in Katowice, Mysłowice and Jaworzno have submitted applications for various types of voluntary military service. This information was provided on Radio Katowice by the head of the Military Recruitment Center in Katowice, Lt. Col. Michał Napierała.

Throughout Poland, over 4,600 people have submitted applications for various types of military service. These decisions were made by these people after military qualification.

Lt. Col. Michał Napierała admitted that the WCR in Katowice has also observed an increase compared to recent years.

This is a bit more than in previous years, which makes me happy. The interest of young people is growing, but it is also information for me that my soldiers carried out the promotion process of the Polish Army very correctly during the ongoing qualification

- said the guest of Radio Katowice.

Lt. Col. Napierała added that in 2025, the rate of appearances before a military commission in the area administered by the Katowice WCR was 95 percent. He pointed out that young people are divided into two groups.

- Those who feel a duty to defend. They feel that it is necessary to fulfill it towards the country and its citizens. There are also those who prefer to stay away from the army. However, I observe that the first group constitutes the majority - assessed the guest of the radio station.

According to the head of the Military Recruitment Center in Katowice, young people are not afraid of the army despite the situation beyond the eastern border .

The first round of this year's "Vacations with the Army" campaign begins on Monday, June 9. Within 27 days, those interested will undergo basic training. Further training is planned for July and August.

The first session is already a bit full, but there are still places available in the next ones if anyone is interested -

Lieutenant Colonel Michał Napierała emphasized that the candidate chooses the place of training. There are over 70 locations to choose from throughout Poland, including 4 in the Silesian Voivodeship.

- I observe that young people often want to serve as close to their place of residence as possible. It does not matter, because during the 27 days, recruits are in barracks and do not leave the unit. I would suggest that you be guided by the nature of the unit and what interests you in the army. You can choose a naval unit, an armored unit, a mechanized unit, a chemical unit. Everything can be selected on the portal when the recruitment process begins - said Lt. Col. Michał Napierała on Radio Katowice.

For 27 days of training, participants will receive PLN 6,000 gross.

In addition, each volunteer after such training will have the opportunity to be involved with the Polish Army for a longer period of time - whether as a soldier of the active reserve, territorial in WOT, professional soldier or cadet of the military academy.
