A lifetime success for a Pole at Wimbledon! Kamil Majchrzak joins Iga Świątek

We wrote more extensively about Kamil Majchrzak's extraordinary story in a separate article on WPROST , telling what the Pole had to go through in recent years. But most importantly, the player from Piotrków Trybunalski, once again enchanted on the grass courts of Wimbledon. Majchrzak came to London without any (!) victory in the main tournament in his career.

And on Friday, late afternoon, July 4, 2025, the Pole advanced to the fourth round of Wimbledon. Doing so with great confidence, in great style, in three sets.

Wimbledon: Kamil Majchrzak with a lifetime success! The fourth round is already here

Friday's third-round match saw two tennis players facing their greatest Grand Slam success. As history would have it, neither Arthur Rinderknech nor Kamil Majchrzak made it past the third round of a Grand Slam-style tournament. What's more, the Pole and the Frenchman were in the third round of a Grand Slam tournament in the same place - the US Open in New York.

However, watching how both fought for success and entry into the best sixteen at Wimbledon 2025, one could openly state that they definitely deserved this chance. Although the Pole won in three sets, there were many moments in which the Frenchman pressed very hard. However, Majchrzak, like… an old hand at Grand Slam tournaments, got out of trouble.

The second set was a perfect example. The Pole had a 4:2 advantage with a break, and in addition, the first, won game in reserve. However, the Frenchman broke his opponent, what's more, improving with a game to 5:4. Not enough? Rinderknech even had a set point at 6:4 on the Pole's serve. However, Majchrzak withstood the imposed pressure. What is extremely important, the longer the exchange lasted, the more certain one could be that the Pole would be the one to win. Of course, the Frenchman also wanted to counteract this with a desire for quick "blows", which were skillfully neutralized by Majchrzak.

The second set alone lasted 66 minutes, which further demonstrates the scale of the equal competition.

Apart from purely sporting emotions, Rinderknech also had a bit of a grudge against the main referee of the match for allegedly… interfering during the match from the stands. Ultimately, however, no one was punished directly.

Majchrzak did not care about the whole thing and advanced to the fourth round of Wimbledon! The last, third set ended with the second tie-break in the match, although this time there were no breaks in the set. The most important game, closing the competition, was finished by the Pole with the result 8:6, once again defending the set point!

The match lasted a total of well over 2.5 hours, and there was no shortage of interesting exchanges. However, the Pole once again impressed with his belief in success and using those assets that he has best in tennis. Backhand, using the entire court space, and a solid serve.

Iga Świątek is back in the game. Where and when to watch the Polish actress' match?

The prize pool for this year's Wimbledon is 53.5 million pounds (approx. 267.6 million zloty). The singles title is defended by Czech Barbora Krejcikova and Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz.

Polish fans have high hopes for Iga Świątek's performance . In the past, the Pole even reached for the final triumph on the London grass, but it was in the junior tournament. We are talking about Wimbledon in 2018. Five years later (2023 edition), already in the senior edition, the Pole achieved her best result in this legendary place, reaching the quarterfinals of the event. How will it be during this year's challenge?

Iga Świątek has a third-round singles match ahead of her. On Saturday (July 5), the Pole will play Danielle Collins. The match against the slightly... eccentric American is scheduled as the second clash of the day on center court, from 2:30 p.m. Polish time (after the Jannik Sinner - Pedro Martinez match).

Wimbledon matches are shown on Polsat Sport channels. Starting with the main channels, i.e. Polsat Sport 1-3, through Polsat Sport Fight, ending with additional ones - Polsat Sport Premium 1-6. In terms of broadcasts available on the Internet, it is worth using the Polsat Box Go platform, with the appropriate packages purchased.
