It was worth making a surprise. That's how much Hurkacz has already earned for reaching the semi-finals in Geneva!

Hubert Hurkacz caused quite a surprise and defeated the favored Taylor Fritz 6:3, 7:6 in the quarterfinals of the ATP tournament in Geneva. Thanks to this, the Pole gained a large sum from the organizers, and it can be even better.

Hurkacz is ranked 31st in the ATP rankings. This is a significant drop from where the Wrocław player was not so long ago, being in the top ten best tennis players in the world. It is therefore not surprising that in the confrontation with Fritz, who is the fourth "racket" in the world, the American was the favorite.

Our best singles player, however, recalled the times when he himself aspired to such high positions and in the quarterfinals of the tournament in Geneva he played to the best of his abilities. As a result, he won, without losing a set, 6:3 and 7:6.

Reaching the semi-finals in Switzerland is not only associated with sporting benefits, such as a possible advancement in the upcoming ATP ranking, but also with financial rewards. Hurkacz has already earned almost 32 thousand euros, or over 130 thousand złoty.

In the fight for the final, the Pole will face Sebastian Ofner, who unexpectedly defeated Karen Chaczanow in the previous round. The Austrian is ranked 128th in the ATP ranking. Therefore, if Hurkacz fulfills the role of favorite and advances to the final, he will collect at least almost 53 thousand euros, which is over 200 thousand zlotys!

A possible triumph in the entire tournament means enrichment of over 90 thousand euros, which is almost 400 thousand zlotys!
