The Polish tennis player won! She ended a terrible streak.

Katarzyna Piter claimed her first victory since June. The Polish player, paired with Hungarian Anna Bondar, defeated Georgian Oksana Kalashnikova and Romanian Monica Niculescu, advancing to the quarterfinals of the WTA tournament in Monterrey.
The last few months haven't been a good one for Katarzyna Piter. The Polish player has been on a seven-match losing streak, with her last victory coming on June 11th in 's-Hertogenbosch. This week, Piter competes alongside Anna Bondar in a WTA 500 event in Monterrey. The Polish-Hungarian duo's first-round opponents were Oksana Kalashnikova and Monica Niculescu.

The first set was close. The first break came in the eighth game, when the Georgian and Romanian broke back to a 5-3 lead. However, they were unable to close the set, and Piter and Bondar closed the gap. The match was decided by a tiebreak. Kalashnikova and Niculescu were already leading 6-4, but from that point on, the Pole and Hungarian showed excellent form, winning four points in a row and taking the lead throughout the match.
In the second set, Kalashnikov and Niculescu once again broke the game first, but again they were unable to convert their serve, with the score at 4:4. The final set was crucial. Piter and Bondar, with the score at 6:5 and their opponents serving, reached the match point. The Polish-Hungarian duo proved flawless, sealing the match.
Piter and Bondar thus advanced to the quarterfinals of the tournament in Monterrey. They will battle for a spot in the top four against fourth-seeded Spaniard Cristina Bucsa and American Nicole Melichar-Martinez.
