Wojciech Szczęsny is one step away from a sensational comeback. The Pole is in the spotlight.

It turns out, however, that the sun may soon emerge from behind the clouds for Poles awaiting their compatriots' next performances in the colors of the Spanish champions. In the case of Robert Lewandowski, his left thigh injury and the resulting suspension appear to be on the last stretch before a full recovery.
Wojciech Szczęsny's return. Catalan media reports the news. The situation is somewhat different for Barca's Polish goalkeeper. Lewandowski has an advantage over Wojciech Szczęsny in that he is among... FCB's registered players . What does this mean? Players are included on a list that applies to specific competitions, in this case, La Liga. And if the club's budget isn't entirely consistent, or there are simply too many players, the management (led by sporting director Deco) must begin looking for solutions. This was the case at Barcelona last season, and it's the case again this season.
However, Catalan media reports that the situation with Szczęsny is likely to be resolved quickly and positively. The Pole would be available for use by coach Hansi Flick from the third round. This sounds rather bizarre, considering that every player currently in the team should be given the opportunity by the club to represent them in official matches.
Barcelona and its management under president Joan Laporta have, however, developed a rather specific (to put it mildly) approach to this type of financial and organizational story. Suffice it to recall the behind-the-scenes transfer window in which Robert Lewandowski arrived in the Catalan capital in the summer of 2022. Financial levers were then activated, news of which reached virtually the entire football world. Various sales, including image-related deals and sponsorship contracts, ultimately allowed the club to find further, enormous funds. But the fact remains that Laporta will have to work hard to meet expectations at one of the most, if not the most, renowned football clubs on the Old Continent.
If journalists like Mundo Deportivo are to be believed, Szczęsny's return (i.e., registration) and the summer signing of Roony Bardghji will take place on August 31st, when Barcelona plays away at Rayo Vallecano. However, the Catalan club must release goalkeeper Inaki Pena and defender Hector Ford before then.
So, all in all, we won't be surprised if this registration process... takes a while.
