As beautiful as Santorini, but cheaper and less crowded. This city will delight tourists

When looking at photos from Sidi Bou Said, it is impossible not to get the impression that we are looking at the landscapes of Santorini. The blue water and the white houses hanging above it, decorated with fuchsia flowers, remind tourists of the most beautiful Greek island, although we are in Tunisia, just twenty kilometers from the center of the capital. This is the best time to visit a place that has not yet been trampled by mass tourism.
The Hidden Pearl of TunisiaTunisia is not just all-inclusive, although this is the model of tourism in this country that is most often chosen by tourists from Poland. A trip to the north of Africa can be a real adventure if we decide to fly to a region a little further away from the tourist resorts. However, this does not mean that we have to spend time in crowded and noisy cities. On the outskirts of Tunis, inhabited by 2.5 million people, tourists will find a beautiful oasis of peace, which will remind many of the climate of Santorini with its charm. We are talking about the village of Sidi Bou Said, which is considered one of the districts of the capital of Tunisia.
This peace can also be experienced by travel agency clients who visit Sidi Bou Said as part of an optional combined trip with Tunis and Carthage. "It is the most charming of Tunisia's cities. The white and blue buildings, cobbled streets, and the breathtaking view of the marina and the bay of Tunis give the impression of being transported to Santorini for a moment," writes the Rainbow travel agency.
The prices are not EuropeanThere are more places like Sidi Bou Said in Africa. For years, the Moroccan Chefchaouen, called the "blue city", has enjoyed great popularity. In both locations, tourists can count on much lower prices than in Europe. Including meals, transport and hotel, the price of a one-day stay in each of these places will not exceed PLN 300 per person
The currency in Tunisia is the Tunisian dinar TND, the exchange rate for June 2025 is PLN 1.26, while in Morocco we will pay PLN 0.41 for one Moroccan dirham.
